POSITION PURPOSE / IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION
This position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day work activities of the Big Dry Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility, Reclaimed Water Treatment Facility, and farming operations on City owned farm properties along with privately owned farms. The incumbent must possess and maintain a thorough understanding of all aspects of wastewater treatment and regulations, reclaimed water treatment and regulations, Biosolids treatment/disposal and land application regulations, and related industry best management practices. Incumbent will oversee all aspects of treatment and be listed as the Operator in Responsible Charge over all programs. This position requires knowledge in Department of Transportation regulations and site-specific storm water regulations. The incumbent must possess the ability to facilitate various workgroups associated with the facilities with clear direction, and the ability to work within the Utilities Operations Division and communicate with the Collections Superintendent, Water Distribution Superintendent, Water Plant Superintendent, Utilities Operations Manager, and the Director of Public Works and Utilities. Work will be performed with wide latitude for independent judgment and action, and reviewed by the Utilities Operations Manager through observation, conferences, reports, and achievement of desired objectives. Position fills in for the Utilities Operations Manager in his or her absence. This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to federally mandated random drug and alcohol testing.
