Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center is accepting applications for a full-time Clinical Geneticist in the Division of Genetics & Metabolism in the Department of Pediatrics. We are seeking an MD/DO with ABMG active candidate status or certification as a Clinical Geneticist
The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassionate patient care (inpatient consultations, outpatient genetics clinics, development of regional clinics in Massachusetts and specialty clinics) and a passion for teaching which includes genetic counseling students, medical students, and residents.
The Division of Genetics & Metabolism is actively expanding our clinical program and looking for people to join our current team, consisting of a physician and 4 genetic counselors. The Cancer Genetics clinic is the primary referral site for three area cancer centers, while the Clinical Genetics clinic is the referral site for the entire Wellforce system, which includes Tufts Medical Center, Floating Hospital for Children, 2 full service community hospitals, and a network of more than 2,000 physicians – reaching from Cape Cod to the New Hampshire border.
There is a cytogenetic laboratory on site. A comprehensive molecular genetics diagnostic laboratory is in the process of being established. There is strong collaboration between the Clinical Genetics program and the Genetic Counselors and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists in the Prenatal Diagnostics Center. As a primary teaching site for Tufts University School of Medicine, excellent opportunities for teaching in both didactic and clinical settings are available at the medical student, resident, and fellow levels. The candidate should have an interest in academic and scholarly achievement in clinical genetics.
