This position supervises public transit construction projects. Typical duties include determining the acceptability of materials furnished and work performed, preparing and negotiating contract change orders, verifying technical compliance with the construction contracts, monitoring and documentation of contractor activities, verify contractor pay requests, oversight of construction inspection and material testing, tracking project progress schedules, budget and scope.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field and seven (6) years of experience in construction and management of transportation projects including a minimum of three (3) years of experience in public agency projects preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Arizona Driver's License. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Arizona. PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical Demands: Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, driving, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, oils, extreme temperatures, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel. Work Environment: Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
