The University of South Florida is pleased to announce a faculty position available at the Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) as a principal, non-tenure earning Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinician Educator.
The Department of Pediatrics Division of Gastroenterology at the University of South Florida Health, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor on a Principal Non-Tenure Earning Pathway in Tampa, Florida. The incumbent will utilize effective clinical skills in teaching, patient care, and research within an academic health science center. Salary negotiable. The faculty member will provide outpatient pediatric gastroenterology services and specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive systems in infants, children, and adolescents. Teaching of residents, and medical students in clinical medicine is an essential function of this position. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a FL medical license, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties.
•Teaching Duties: The incumbent will be provide education and training to medical students, residents and fellows who rotate through the pediatric gastroenterology clinical service.
•Research Duties: The candidate will participate in scholarly efforts to identify best practices for and encouraged to participate in clinical trials and other clinical research.
•Clinical Duties: The candidate will see patients and provide quality clinical care, primarily at USF Health clinics.
•Other Duties: Professional development and other duties as assigned.
Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in patient care, teaching, academic research, and service. Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in referred and other professional journals. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor. The candidate is expected to be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology, and be eligible for licensure as a physician in FL. The candidate will be expected to have experience working in an academic medical center environment that supports appointment at MCOM at the rank of assistant professor.
PREFERRED: Experience with basic or clinical research in the field of pediatric gastroenterology.
