Huitt-Zollars' Seattle, Washington Office has a full-time opportunity for a Structural Engineer. The successful candidate will be a registered Professional or Structural Engineer in the state of Washington with experience designing structural elements such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, foundations, sign structures and building systems. This role will work in a team environment on transportation, transit, and public works projects primarily in Seattle with opportunities to work o project for other offices. Responsibilities: - Design engineering of bridges and structures for road and highway, transit systems and public works projects.
- Perform structural analysis and prepare design calculations.
- Develop structural details and construction plans using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
- Provides input and technical guidance to CAD designers/drafters and other project staff.
- Work closely with engineers and other disciplines to assure coordinated design systems.
- Review shop drawings, perform field observations, and facilitate the construction administration process.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's Degree preferred).
- Structural Engineer (SE) or Professional Engineer (PE) registered in state of Washington.
- 6+ years' experience in structural engineering including construction administration.
- Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design specifications and AASHTO Guide Specifications for LRFD Seismic Bridge Design is desirable.
- Understanding of International Building Code, ASE 7, ASCE 61-14, ACI 318 Building Coad Requirements of Structural Concrete, ASICE Steel Construction Manual, AISC Seismic Design Manual and other material design codes.
- Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills.
