POSITION: Assistant/Associate Professor (50% Research and 50% Teaching), 9-month academic year, tenure-track or tenured appointment in the Department of Foods and Nutrition
QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered for the position of Assistant Professor, the applicant must hold an earned doctorate (at time of appointment) in nutrition or a related scientific field. The applicant must have an academic background in the science of nutrition and have demonstrated productivity in bone health research such as the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and related chronic diseases. The applicant must have demonstrated scholarly competence and research productivity. To be considered for the position of Associate Professor, the applicant must meet the above qualifications, and have attained tenure at a comparable university or have at least four years of experience and an outstanding record of research productivity. To be considered for the Associate Professor level, candidates must demonstrate clear and convincing evidence of emerging stature as a regional or national authority as appropriate for the position. To be eligible for tenure on appointment, candidates must be appointed as an associate professor and bring a demonstrably national reputation to the institution. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates for the Assistant Professor rank that demonstrate evidence in preparation and submission of external research grants are preferred. Candidates for the Associate Professor rank with at least one funded research grant as PI are preferred. To be considered for the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, at least one year of post-doctoral research experience is preferred and at least one year of experience conducting clinical trials is desirable.
