Job Description:The Department of Medical Education at the University Of Central Florida College Of Medicine (UCF-COM) is seeking a board-certified Neurologist to contribute to neurology education at the undergraduate medical education (UME) level, with a small involvement at the graduate medical education (GME) level. For UME, this candidate will be the module director for the Brain and Behavior module for M2 students, and in GME, this position will serve as a clinical supervisor of residents and offer general neurology inpatient consultations at the Osceola Regional Medical Center. The position may be for a tenure-track or non-tenure track (multi-year and/or clinical) appointment at the assistant or associate professor of medicine level.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of curricula at the UME level. Experience in neurology clerkship education and/or GME is preferred, but not required.

The College of Medicine is an LCME-accredited medical college with an annual matriculation of 120 medical students and is part of a new Academic Health Sciences Center which includes multiple health affairs disciplines.
The Brain and Behavior Module is a seven week course co-taught by this position along with faculty in pathology, pharmacology, psychiatry, and neuroanatomy which includes lectures, anatomy lab, and case based studies. The Neurology residency program at the Osceola Regional Medical Center started in 2017 and will have a full complement of 16 residents starting in 2020. One week a month this position provides clinical supervision and instruction to a multidisciplinary team of neurology residents, students, and other residents from various specialties.
The College of Medicine campus is part of a growing biomedical cluster known as “Medical City” at Lake Nona which is dedicated to innovation in health and wellness and continues to develop just east of the Orlando International Airport. The College of Medicine is located in a new medical education building with modern anatomy, histology and simulation laboratories, as well as a state of the art library.
Candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school, be board certified in Neurology, and have recent post-training clinical experience. Applicants must have a demonstrated record of medical teaching experience.
In order to be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor of medicine upon hire, candidates must have a demonstrated record of scholarly achievement, medical teaching experience, and service commensurate with rank.Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates who are certified in General Neurology and have significant experience in UME education. Preference will also be given to candidates who have taught in a clerkship or GME program. Experience in small-group case-based learning, one-on-one clinical teaching, and working in the clinical and simulation skills laboratory environment is ideal.Additional Application Materials Required:
