The Challenge We are looking for entry-level engineers to join our Transportation Engineer Associate (TEA) program. You will gain hands-on learning and experience with a starting salary of $65,000 and a permanent position at the end of the program. This program is only open to recent college graduates with a passion for transportation, public service and the drive to lead in the smart transportation revolution. We will be choosing 30 candidates for admission. Candidates accepted into this program may be given the opportunity to relocate. The role may require registration as a professional engineer with the NC Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. In this 18-month structured program, you will pick your rotations in Roadway, Structures, Environmental Planning, Hydraulics, Geotechnical, Utilities, Photogrammetry, Maintenance, R&D, Marine, Rail, Aviation, and Construction. Associates earn $65,000 entering the program and are awarded an Engineer I permanent role at $71,391 at the completion. You will need to demonstrate a commitment to public service, analytical thinking, team work, proven academic success, and leadership potential.
