The Project Engineer or Scientist will lead and manage a multi-year study into the use of recycled asphalt pavement in new asphalt concrete mixes. This will require the development of experimental plans, collection of material samples, asphalt binder extraction, asphalt binder testing, specimen preparation, asphalt mix testing, data analysis, and report and implementation plan writing.

Basic qualifications include a PhD in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related field, and experience with the asphalt binder and mix testing. Demonstrated ability to conduct and lead field and laboratory testing. Demonstrated experience with the use of numerical models. A demonstrated ability to quickly turn research results into technical reports and peer-reviewed publications. Experience with communicating with a diverse set of stakeholders.
Additional qualifications: excellent computing skills using Matlab and similar software.
Preferred qualifications: experience working with and mentoring graduate students and field technicians.
