The Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Houston is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Pharmacology at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. The search is focused on adding expertise in cardiac and skeletal muscle physiology/pathophysiology/pharmacology along with other areas of cardiovascular biology relevant to drug discovery/development.
The University of Houston is a Carnegie-Designated Tier 1 public research university and also a member institution of the world-renowned Texas Medical Center which houses major academic research programs in cancer, genetics, and neuroscience with a major focus on translational research. The college and department recently moved into a new state-of-the-art building with exceptional research facilities and teaching resources. The successful candidate will be provided lab space and receive a start-up package commensurate with his/her qualifications. Department faculty members teach in the Pharm.D. professional program and Ph.D. programs in Pharmacology.
