FACULTY POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTLECTURERCOLLEGE OF NURSING AND HEALTH SCIENCES
The Department of Biomedical Health Sciences within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Vermont seeks an applicant for a full-time, nine-month non-tenure track position in the area of Health Sciences. We invite applications at the rank of lecturer. This 9-month position begins in the Fall of 2020.
This undergraduate program, currently an applicant for accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health,prepares students for careers in health-related fields through a core curriculum that integrates social, behavioral and analytic areas of public health and health sciences. There are abundant opportunities for inter-professional collaborations with the Vermont Department of Health, the University of Vermont Medical Center, The University of Vermont Health Network, the Vermont Cancer Center, the UVM College of Medicine, and the College of Arts and Sciences.
The successful candidate will be committed to health equity and excellence in undergraduate teaching and employ innovative and inclusive practices in the classroom. Candidates with an interest and/or experience in service-learning and community partnership development, Global Health and Epidemiology are highly desirable.

The DepartmentThe Department of Biomedical and Health Sciences is part of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (https://www.uvm.edu/cnhs/bhsc). The successful candidate will join a department with tenure track, clinical faculty, lecturers and staff that are dedicated to educating the nearly 300 undergraduate students and 15 graduate students in our programs. Program offerings include undergraduate majors in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Radiation Science and Health Sciences and an MLS Master’s degree.
The CommunityUVM is located in Burlington, Vermont, which is rated as one of the best small cities in the country. The greater Burlington area has an increasingly diverse population of about 125,000 and enjoys a panoramic setting on the shore of Lake Champlain, between the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. The surrounding area provides an environment rich in cultural, civic and recreational activities. Vermont has a deep history of social activism and political participation. It offers many opportunities for collaborative partnerships in community and state-wide human service and social change organizations in multiple fields of practice, including state agencies.
