The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Genetics and Metabolism at The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks genetics research faculty at all academic levels as part of an exciting expansion of genetic and personalized/precision medicine research in the Department of Pediatrics. Successful candidates may become trainers in the Human Medical Genetics and Genomics Program of the Graduate School, as appropriate.
Any area of genetic research related to children’s health and disease will be considered. Specific areas of interest include inborn errors of metabolism, gene regulation, genomics and genomic informatics, personalized/precision medicine, development of novel therapies including nucleic acid replacement or correction technologies, and functional validation using model organisms. Successful candidates will apply for and obtain independent grant funding per Departmental expectations and guidelines. Opportunities for clinical involvement are available for physician-scientists.
Ph.D., and/or M.D., and minimum of four years of laboratory research experience in genetics or a related field. Years of experience will be part of the determination of academic level to start. Both wet and dry lab positions are available.
