Utilities Field Operations Manager job duties are primarily professional duties for the water and electric utilities related to capital infrastructure programs, engineering and operations including oversight of the distribution systems and relevant standards, specifications and codes. This position will respond to citizen inquiries and proactively represents the department to elected officials, outside agencies and other departments. In addition, the Utilities Field Operations Manager will work with the Director on policy management and budget administration.
The Utilities Field Operations Manager has direct supervision over the Assistant Electric Superintendent, Pump Station Technician, Control Technician, Portfolio Intern and the Water Distribution Supervisor. See Full Job Description Here
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in utility operation, or related experience including five years of supervisory responsibility.
Technical Knowledge: Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email.
Licenses & Certifications: Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of start date. Must possess a Professional Engineering License (PE) or be able to obtain one within six months.
Lifting & Carrying: Occasionally up to 35 lbs. such as files, toolboxes, utilities equipment, etc.
Physical: Reaching, standing, sitting, typing, talking, crouching, kneeling, seeing, driving, and hearing.
