The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources is a publicly-owned utility, committed to providing excellent water, wastewater and stormwater services at the best possible value to the citizens of Gwinnett County. The department is widely recognized for service excellence in the operation of 2 water production facilities, 3 water reclamation facilities and over 200 pump stations. In addition, DWR maintains 3,800 miles of water lines, 3,100 miles of sewer lines and 1,500 miles of stormwater pipe. The Department of Water Resources takes pride in stewardship of the environmental resources entrusted to us and pledge to be responsible as we manage water as a limited, but renewable, resource.This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Strategic Asset Management Plan (AMP), as well as the Tactical AMPs for the various asset classes associated with the water, sewer and storm water infrastructure. The position will work closely with other engineers, as well as operations and maintenance professionals, to develop relevant and appropriate AMPs for each asset class. As part of the AMP effort, this position will develop and maintain long-term renewal plans based on statistically established useful life estimates and track the level of reinvestment required to maintain value in each system. The position will focus on translating available data from various sources (GIS, maintenance management systems, etc.) into actionable information. The position will also assist in business case evaluations and master planning efforts, especially where renewal considerations will impact future expansion efforts.
