The Active Transportation Team, Capital Projects and Traffic Engineering Division of the Fairfax County Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation planner to join the team. Supports the development, design, review and management of a diverse range of active transportation projects, plans, feasibility studies and programs, addressing the needs of pedestrians, bicyclists, bike share users, scooter riders, transit riders, and people with disabilities. Fosters collaborative working relationships with local and regional stakeholders to advance bicycle and pedestrian transportation planning and implementation of projects in Fairfax County. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, urban, regional or transportation planning, or a closely related field; plus two years of professional experience in civil engineering, urban, regional or transportation planning, or a closely related field.UNDERFILL REQUIREMENTS:This vacancy will be underfilled at the level of Transportation Planner I (Grade S21, $51,805 - $86,341).
