Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a Postdoctoral Stroke Fellow to join the Vemuganti's Lab. The primary project involve the study of post-stroke brain damage with age/sex variables and analysis of the role of microRNAs, lncRNAs, epigenetics and epitranscriptomics in brain damage after ischemic stroke. Secondary projects are to investigate the significance of post-stroke peripheral organ dysfunction.
PhD in neuroscience or biomedical sciences and proficiency in English are required. The incumbent is expected to interact with several scientists, post-docs, grad students and undergrad students working in Vemuganti Lab. Proficiency in rodent focal ischemia models, motor and cognitive function analysis, histopathology, immunohistochemistry, Western blotting and real-time PCR is required. Data analysis, statistical analysis and writing skills are expected.
