Faculty Positions in the Center for Remote Health Technologies and Systems
The College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for up to two full-time Tenure/Tenure-Track with a 9-month academic appointment beginning the fall semester 2020. Applicants will be considered for the titles Assistant/Associate/Full Professor depending on qualifications.
This position is defined as someone working in the area of remote health technologies and includes a range of possibilities such as:
Research could be geared toward populations that could benefit from point-of-care devices and systems such as underserved people in urban and rural communities, military personnel including combat casualty care, and astronauts. For example, the Center recently lead a consortium of industry, government partners and universities that has been awarded a prestigious National Science Foundation (NSF) Engineering Research Center (ERC) on Precise Advanced Technologies and Health Systems for Underserved Populations (PATHS-UP), with the goal of addressing the grand challenge of overcoming the human and economic burden of diabetes and heart disease in underserved communities.
Recognizing the increasing need to advance remote health care technologies and remote health care systems so that people everywhere (patients, military personnel, astronauts) can be linked to care providers and receive timely, effective and personalized care, the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES), a member of the Texas A&M University System, has established the Center for Remote Health Technologies and Systems (CRHTS). The CRHTS has a primary vision of enabling healthy living. The Center’s mission is to identify and overcome the unmet stakeholder needs through the development of breakthrough health care devices, technologies, and delivery systems. Jointly with the Texas A&M Dwight Look College of Engineering, diverse applications are being accepted for new faculty positions to be placed in the Center with a tenure home in one of the departments within the College. Encourage applicants with backgrounds in Biomedical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, and Materials Engineering to apply, with any range of experience.
