The University of Memphis seeks a tenure-track faculty at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME). An earned doctoral degree in BME or other related field is required together with publications showing works in BME topic areas such as physiological systems and modeling, instrumentation, biomechanics (any scale) or other biomedical engineering topic areas.
The University of Memphis (UofM) is a public research university with a faculty of approximately 930 professors and serves about 17,000 undergraduates and 4,000 graduate students in over 250 areas of study. The Biomedical Engineering Department is home to an accredited undergraduate program with approximately 250 students and participates with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) in a Joint Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering with approximately 30 graduate students. The UofM holds 25 Chairs of Excellence, two of which reside in Biomedical Engineering. Faculty in BME have active research supported by federal (e.g. NIH), corporate and private agencies in the broad areas of biomaterials and regenerative medicine, biomechanics, biosensors, bioelectricity and imaging.
