Deatrick Engineering Associates, Inc. located in Orlando, Florida, firm specializing in Civil Engineering, Environmental Services, Construction Materials Testing and Threshold Inspection Services. Our firm serves commercial and residential sectors, land developers, other design firms, and private landowners.
We are seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer / Threshold Special Inspector to join our growing company and be part of a great team. The potential candidate will have the following experience and skills:
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida
Bachelors (B.S.) degree from an accredited college in Civil and Environmental Engineering
Minimum five (5) years of related experience working for a general contractor or civil engineering firm with institutional clients.
Review Geotechnical evaluations and recommendations as prepared by outside consultants. (quality assurance and quality control) including soil analysis, concrete specifications, footer and foundation stability, etc.
Assist project management in obtaining information as it relates to quantity takeoffs and review plans in regard to cost saving opportunities as it relates to construction costs.
Establish and maintain consistent communication and performance management between outside consultants and internal/external clients.
Supervise and observe the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State and County officials and other outside agencies
Supervise the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.
Periodic / infrequent travel.
Team-oriented, enthusiastic, and self-motivated
Construction experience is a plus
Knowledge of current design codes and standards
Minimum 5 Years of Experience
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal direction
Time management skills and good organizational skills
Design of all structural members for buildings using reinforced concrete, masonry, wood, aluminum and structural steel
Review of shop drawings
Responding to City Plan reviewer’s comments and recommendations
Participate in contract bidding and administration.
Provide technical, design and oversight to less experienced engineers.
Prepare proposal scope and cost estimates.
Client presentations and general marketing efforts
Hard working, driven, detail oriented, and technically sound with engineering principles & practices.
Must have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
