The successful applicant will primarily work on a project focused on determining effects of sex hormones on sleep-dependent memory in women across the lifespan (MPIs Fiona Baker, SRI and Sara Mednick, UCI). The project aims at understanding the potential protective role of sleep against cognitive decline, particularly in women.The successful applicant will be expected to work on several aspects of the project, including data collection, reduction and analysis, data presentation, preparation of manuscripts for publication, and develop new research initiatives.About the SRI Human Sleep Research LabThe Human Sleep Research Program works in tandem with the Neuroscience Program in the Center for Health Sciences, Bioscience Division at SRI International to conduct studies about sleep and the brain, using state of the art imaging and EEG equipment.
