The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) for the Facilities Services office. Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor for Quality Assurance, this position performs engineering planning, design, design review, options analysis, and cost analysis in the areas of mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing systems for judicial branch facilities. The incumbent will assist facility management staff in the more complex facility maintenance engineering activities including: 1) development and control of operating and maintenance procedures, 2) analysis of design maintainability and operability, 3) local improvement district applications, and 4) other related technical support.
Incumbent will work directly with regulatory agencies such as Division of the State Architect (DSA), Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC), Division of Occupational Health and Safety (Cal/OSHA), and local city and county Departments of Public Works (DPW) to explain the Judicial Council’s approach to code compliance in designs for new capital projects, facility modification projects, and correction of code violations in existing court facilities.

The successful candidate will be expected to work in the San Francisco or Sacramento office.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, energy management, or building science, or a directly related field and three (3) years of experience in area of assignment. Additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
