Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Montana State University invites applicants to fill two tenure-track accounting positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank for fall 2020. The successful candidates will be committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and master’s levels, as well as to conducting interesting, thoughtful, and relevant scholarly research that results in publications in high quality peer-reviewed journals. Colleagues in all areas of accounting and data analytics are encouraged to apply, however, our greatest teaching needs are in the areas of accounting information systems, data analytics, and management accounting. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or DBA in accounting or a related field (e.g. MIS, Analytics and Management Science) from an accredited university. Candidates with ABD status will be considered, however documentation of degree completion must be submitted prior to August 2020.
About the Organization and Location
Montana State University is a land grant institution with an enrollment of approximately 16,000 students. Fully accredited by the AACSB, the Jake Jabs College of Business offers a Bachelor of Science in Business with options in Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing, and a Master of Professional Accountancy. Of the College’s 1,500 students about 220 are enrolled in the accounting option and 35 in the Master of Professional Accountancy program. Accounting students are actively recruited in the national market, enjoy a high rate of career placement, and consistently do well on the CPA exam.
Bozeman, Montana is an attractive city, located in the Rocky Mountains, 90 miles north of Yellowstone National Park. Livability described Bozeman as “a giant outdoor playground rather than a city.” The 110,000 residents of Bozeman and Gallatin Valley enjoy excellent schools, a very low crime rate, a vibrant cultural and arts scene, and one of the most outstanding scenic and outdoor recreation areas in the nation.

Duties and Responsibilities
The new faculty members will teach required and elective courses in the undergraduate and graduate accounting and business programs, advise students, conduct scholarly research, and provide college and university service and engagement. A normal teaching load is 6-9 credit hours per semester.
