Reporting to the Electric Utility Director; the Deputy Electric Utility Director performs professional and administrative work in directing and managing all operations of the City Electric Utility Department. The Deputy Electric Utility Director will assume all management responsibilities for the Electric Utility Department in the absence of the Electric Utility Director.

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience with electric distribution systems and the electric utility industry is required. A minimum of five (5) years of administrative and supervisory experience in public utility construction and maintenance work and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Qualified candidates must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License. A comparable amount of education and/or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. Complete the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) training within 6 months of completion of probationary period.
