Research Responsibilities: The research focus is on food process and biological engineering with emphasis on increasing the value of agricultural products by processing via biological, chemical, and physical means. The successful candidate will be expected to provide visionary leadership in food bioprocessing by incorporating novel and emerging technologies to develop a robust, collaborative, externally-funded research program.
Teaching Responsibilities: Teaching duties are in Food Science and Biological Engineering. The candidate will develop new courses covering emerging technologies, as well as teach existing courses for undergraduate and graduate students. He or she will implement an interdisciplinary curriculum crossing course and departmental boundaries while maintaining a focus on advising students in Food Science and Biological Engineering.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in food science, food engineering, bioprocess engineering, biosystems engineering, biological engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate research and teaching. Industrial work experience would be a plus.
