Senior Electrical Engineer, Electrical Department Manager
Our Canonsburg (Pittsburgh), PA office has an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer with additional leadership opportunities.
Successful candidate will be a forward thinking electrical engineer, passionate about the Building Construction Industry, with 7 - 10 years minimum experience in the design of power distribution, lighting and life safety systems for healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, and educational institutions.
Engineering responsibilities include supervision of the construction drawing process from the conceptual design phase through design completion, system calculations, equipment selections and layouts, project specifications, probable cost estimates, quality control and overall project management through the completion of construction. Additional responsibilities include the supervision of project designers and engineers. AutoCad and/or Revit proficiency, or a solid understanding of the electronic drawing process, is a necessity.
Project Management role includes supervision of the construction drawing process and overall project coordination through the completion of construction, team management from the conceptual design phase through design completion. Leadership responsibilities include the development and growth of the department and assisting in developing the careers of several staff members.
Project financial responsibilities include fee proposal writing, monitoring project profitability, invoicing production effort, and monitoring accounts receivable.
Communication and collaboration with electrical leaders in our other offices, and integration with our project planning and production processes, are a necessity. Company resources / principal-level mentors will be made available to assist.
Title and compensation package will be determined by experience level and qualifications. A strong candidate may be considered for higher-level management opportunities. Required qualifications: Solid technical competence, Pennsylvania P.E. registration, and strong communication skills. Project management and business development experience is preferred and will be further developed as part of a complete career plan. Client service and client management skills are a must. Individual must be motivated to advance career, have a desire to train younger engineers and to provide overall leadership to our staff.
