The City of Pittsburg seeks a SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER for the Engineering Division in the Community Development Department.The Senior Civil Engineer supervises, evaluates and participates in professional engineering inspection and technical civil engineering work; ensures safe work practices, work quality and accuracy; maintains appropriate work records; serves as a technical resource for assigned work staff; performs other duties as required. About the Engineering DivisionThe Engineering Division of the Community Development Department ensures City owned facilities such as streets, storm drain systems, water distribution networks, sewer collection facilities and improvements are constructed where needed and improvements meet appropriate standards. Education and Experience: Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and four years of Civil Engineering experience, including one year at a supervisory level. A Master's Degree can substitute for one year of experience.Certification/Registration: Possession of a valid certificate of registration as a Civil Engineer, issued by the California State Board of Registration for Civil and Professional Engineers is required.License: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance is required.
