Our laboratory (Friel Lab, http://burke.weill.cornell.edu/friel-lab) studies the organization and plasticity of motor and sensory systems in children with cerebral palsy. The overarching goal of our laboratory is to design more effective therapies for children with CP. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to assist in the development and implementation of quantitative, robust, unbiased assessments of sensorimotor function in children with CP. Additionally, the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will engage in a clinical research study that aims to improve upper limb function in children with CP by combining non-invasive brain stimulation with motor training. Our laboratory is highly collaborative among our members and across different laboratories.
Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Kinesiology, or Biomedical Sciences. Competitive applicants will have experience with one or more of the following: non-invasive brain stimulation, pediatric neurorehabilitation, electrophysiology, and/or kinematics. MATLAB programming skills preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy team-based work, as our projects depend on seamless cooperation between lab members, study participants, and collaborators. Compensation includes NIH scale salary and full health benefits. The position is expected to commence in the summer of 2019.
