The Electric Utility Chief Engineer is responsible for planning and supervising the activities of the engineering function within the Electric Utility Division. The ideal candidate will be well versed in best practices related to electrical distribution facilities and operations and will be an integral partner in the City's commitment to providing first-rate customer care. This position requires strategic thinking and planning skills to coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies and to provide highly responsible and complex technical support to the Division Manager. As a responsible professional, the Chief Engineer must be able to work well with others and independently, as well as exercise initiative and good judgment in the performance of the tasks assigned to this position.

Seven years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience, at least two of which were in a supervisory or program/project management capacity.
Current, valid certification as an Electrical Engineer issued by the California State Licensing Board for Professional Engineers.
