WASTEWATER SUPERINTENDENT: Norfolk, Nebraska (Population 24,400), located in Northeast Nebraska. Performs technical and supervisory work, directing the activities in the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Transfer Station; responsible for planning, coordinating and reviewing the work of the operating, maintenance and laboratory personnel. Seven to ten years of increasing responsible managerial and work experience in the operation of a wastewater plant; must have a Grade IV operator certification. Monthly salary range $5,182-$7,220. Under the direction of the Public Works Director, performs technical and supervisory work, directing the activities of workers in the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Transfer Station; responsible for planning, coordinating and reviewing the work of semi-skilled and skilled operating, maintenance and laboratory personnel; supervises Wastewater Supervisor and Solid Waste Supervisor.
Must be able to receive and maintain Grade IV Wastewater Certificate for Direct Responsible Charge (DRC); must be able to supervise staff; must be able to plan and direct the activities of employees engaged in the operations of a wastewater facility; must have a thorough knowledge of the workings of a wastewater treatment plant including the local, state and federal laws that govern such; must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; must have a valid Nebraska Driver’s License.
