Join us in preserving Oregon history as a structural designer in our Bridge Engineering Section! In this key role, you will provide expertise related to rehabilitating and restoring concrete, steel, and timber bridges throughout the state that are deteriorating due to exposure to the environment. The purpose of this important work is to restore or enhance the original design strength and bring safety features up to higher standards. Through the use of cathodic protection or other corrosion protection systems, these structures will continue to both serve highway needs and maintain their historic status for a substantially extended period of time.
The goal of this recruitment is to fill this position at a professional engineer 1 level. However, we encourage candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for an associate in engineering 2 ($4,272 - $6,309 monthly) to apply, as we may consider under-filling the position until the selected candidate acquires a professional engineer's license. Under-filling will not exceed 24 months.
We invite members of all diverse communities to join our workforce as we endeavor to best serve Oregonians from every background. ODOT values diversity and inclusion because they are good for Oregon. We believe that by welcoming differences, encouraging new ideas and views, listening to and learning from each other, and providing opportunities for professional enrichment we are better able to serve those around us. We thank you for considering this employment opportunity.
