This position is safety sensitive and subject to Valley Metro RPTA's Drug & Alcohol Program. Applicants for positions defined as safety sensitive are required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and, subsequent to commencement of employment, will be subject to random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty, and follow up testing. The Signal & Communications Systems Maintainer is responsible for maintaining, testing, replacing and repairing electrical, electronic, and mechanical components of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) transit signaling and communications systems equipment and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisitions (SCADA) hardware and network devices. The Signal and Communications Systems Maintainer shall contribute to team efforts and represents Agency core values in the performance of duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
Associates degree in Electronic Communications or Electro/Mechanical Technology and transit rail experience required. Or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties such as those listed above. Medical Examination: Employment for safety-sensitive positions is contingent on passing a physical examination performed by our examining physician. Drug Testing: Applicants for positions defined as safety sensitive are required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and, subsequent to commencement of employment, will be subject to random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty, and follow up testing. Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon the results of a background check which will include a credit check. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a current valid Arizona Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B) with Air Brakes endorsement. Position requires the ability to maintain insurability under METRO's Vehicle Insurance Policy.
