HDR is looking for a Lead Traffic Engineer in our Des Moines office who will help lead and grow the traffic engineering practice in Iowa. This role will build on the success HDR has attained in traffic engineering in the Iowa market. The primary duties include leading the traffic team on a variety of traffic forecasting, analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projects. Operational traffic analysis may include using a variety of modeling tools ranging from highway capacity software to complex micro-simulation models in order analyze everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway segments. Traffic design may include accident analysis and mitigation strategies, signing, pavement markings, traffic signals, lighting, and Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS). Must be able to independently manage large and small transportation projects. Would be responsible for developing business relationships through client interaction, project pursuits, and general marketing activities.
