The City of Hillsboro Water Department is seeking a Water Project Manager to join their dynamic, collaborative team. The Hillsboro Water Department operates at a metropolitan scale from a suburban environment, with responsibilities for local water distribution as well as for regional water supply, providing drinking water supply to nearly 400,000 people. The Water Department is working on a $520 million 10-year capital improvement program. This is an excellent opportunity to serve as a technical resource for engineering projects for the City, Joint Water Commission and the Willamette Water Supply Program.
The Water Project Manager will manage capital improvement projects from planning, budgeting, and design through to construction and project completion. The Water Project Manager’s work involves close collaboration and coordination with other divisions in the Water Department and with staff from partner agencies to assure that project goals of all parties are met. This position requires strong communication skills to convey technical information to stakeholders and in public meetings. The Water Project Manager also supervises, mentors and inspires Engineering Associates and interns.

General Statement of Duties
The principal function of an employee in this class is to focus on project management responsibilities. Incumbents, as assigned, are responsible for development, coordination, and implementation of ongoing projects including report writing and presentation, conducting research; providing citizen service and project management related to City resources and may be responsible for overseeing designated projects, programs and resources. Incumbents serve as supervisors overseeing staff and conducting performance evaluations.
Acceptable Experience and Training
Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field and 4 years’ experience related to area of assignment including supervisory responsibility; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
