The Village of Hinsdale is seeking a civil engineering student for the position of CivilEngineering Intern in the Public Services & Engineering Department during the summer of2018.
Duties and Responsibilities:Position will be responsible for assisting with inspecting all phases of projects, basic surveying,AutoCad drafting, and assisting with the review of private and public stormwater uses andsolutions. This internship will also assist with the preparation and administration of contractsrelated to sidewalk construction, curbs/gutters, asphalt and concrete paving, sanitary and stormsewer work, and managing Illinois EPA data collection, tracking and reporting.
Work ScheduleCandidate is expected to work 10 weeks over the summer.Rate of Pay and BenefitsRate of pay is $10/hour. There are no additional benefits associated with this position.
Environmental Factors & Physical RequirementsThe work environment generally includes an office setting. The noise level is usually quiet. Thisposition is regularly required to sit in a chair; use hands to touch (e.g. computer mouse), handle(e.g. telephone), type (e.g. keyboard) or feel (e.g. paper); reach with hands and arms, and see,talk and hear. Occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. May liftand/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to reada computer screen.
