TRAFFIC SYSTEMS COORDINATOR
To coordinate and oversee the City’s traffic systems; to perform a variety of work in the design, installation and maintenance of traffic control systems.
This job functions at an advanced journey level of classification and receives limited supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures, and is expected to act as a working full supervisory level which includes training, directing, coordinating, and formally evaluating the work of subordinate work crews.

LICENSE & CERTIFICATION
TRAFFIC OPERATIONS MANAGER
Under general direction, to plan, organize, manage and coordinate traffic engineering activities, to perform a wide variety of difficult and complex traffic engineering, and other related assignments.
Plans, develops and or implements programs, policies and practices involving the construction, installation, and maintenance of traffic signal control devices including signs and markings, street lights and parking related issues.

APPOINTMENT AND BENEFITS
The position benefits include vacation, sick leave, and holidays. The City offers Public Employees Retirement System benefits. Employees shall pay the full employee share of CalPERS contribution.
The candidate selected will be appointed for a 12-month probationary period. Names of successful candidates who do not receive a job offer will be placed on an employment list which normally remains effective for one year. The Human Resources Department may abolish an Employment List at any time the needs of the City so require. The position is represented by the Mid-Management bargaining unit.
Prior to appointment to the position of Traffic Systems Coordinator or Traffic Operations Manager, a medical examination and Department of Justice LiveScan fingerprinting will be required.
