The City of Sunnyvale is looking for a dynamic and flexible person to help modernize, update, and renovate City infrastructure. Under the direction of the Assistant City Engineer or Assistant Director of Public Works Director/City Engineer, the selected candidates will perform professional and technical engineering work in support of the Capital Improvement Projects Administration Section, and perform related work as required. Ideal candidates have both strong project/program management skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with staff, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
The current Senior Engineer opening is located within the unit assigned to deliver two key programs – rebuild of the Water Pollution Control Plant and Design and Construction of a new City Hall.

The minimum qualifications for this position are a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a related field; and Five years of increasingly responsible professional civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering experience, depending on assignment, including experience in a supervisory or project management role.
Possession of registration as a professional civil or structural engineer issued by the State of CA as well as possession of a valid class C California driver’s license and a safe drive record are also required.
