Under broad supervision of the Director of Planning & Development, the Development Engineer applies professional civil engineering knowledge and skills to a variety of engineering projects. Analyzes and interprets complex engineering construction and planning documents in compliance with Town requirements, including review of engineering plans and technical reports for development projects, plats, development plans and utility plans.

• Knowledge of the principals and practices of civil engineering.• Knowledge of personal computers, proficiency in MS Office Suite and CAD applications.• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with developers, contractors, property owners, employees and the general public.• Ability to research, prepare and analyze technical reports and data.• Ability to establish effective working relationships with developers, consultants, other employees, and other public and private agencies.
