The Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. is the largest public infrastructure redevelopment program in Atlanta’s history and includes 22 miles of light-rail (streetcar) transit, 33 miles of trails, over 1,200 acres of new parkland, 46 miles of new streets and streetscapes, public art, 1.100 acres of brownfield reclamation and the creation of more than 30,000 jobs and 5,600 affordable housing units in the neighborhoods surrounding the underutilized railroad corridor.
Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. is seeking to hire a staff Civil Engineer. Applicants must be self?motivated and able to work in a small organization environment that requires a well?rounded skill set. The ideal candidate would be interested in the many aspects of transformative urban infrastructure design, site design, and construction activities.
The Civil Engineer’s primary responsibility will be to work with the real estate department on all acquisitions and access negotiations. Career growth is implicit to the position and applicants should expect to work with other ABI staff to support the management and implementation of capital projects (including parks, trails and transit). Candidates must be able to communicate effectively, passing information to and absorbing information from other staff members.
The position requires a baseline understanding of civil engineering and its effects on urban design. Interest in environmental remediation, the national environmental policy act (NEPA) environmental review process, and the impacts of federal funding to managing infrastructure projects is necessary. Design excellence, cooperation with external partners, and team building are fundamental values that continuously guide all aspects of our work.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Professional Engineering registration from the State of Georgia or the ability to obtain such registration within 12-months of being hired.
Experience: 5 years’ experience in civil engineering design. Experience with vertical and horizontal construction with some focus on parks, trails, and/or brownfield remediation is highly desirable. Experience with multi? disciplinary projects in urban environments is also desirable.
