The Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI) is the largest public infrastructure redevelopment program in Atlanta’s history and includes 22 miles of light-rail (streetcar) transit located in the Atlanta BeltLine corridor, 33 miles of trails, over 1,200 acres of new parkland, 46 miles of new streets and streetscapes, public art, 1,100 acres of brownfield reclamation, and the creation of more than 30,000 jobs and 5,600 affordable housing units in the neighborhoods surrounding the underutilized railroad corridor.
Atlanta BeltLine, Inc (ABI) is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer. Ideal candidate would be proficient in all aspects of design, specification creation, and construction inspection. Must be self-motivated and be able to work in a multidisciplinary environment that requires a well-rounded skill set and the desire to explore new and innovative designs. Candidates should be able to both design and oversee implementation of projects independently and pass on knowledge and skills to other staff members when working as part of a team.
The Senior Civil Engineer will work on a portfolio of park, trail, transit and streetscape projects. The position provides environmental planning, civil engineering, design, and construction management services including project management for ABI’s capital projects. The position will coordinate and direct employees and consultants and ensure a commitment to quality work and timely project delivery through consistent and professional performance of job requirements. All aspects of the work associated with this position will be guided by ABI’s core values of Equity, Partnership, Innovation, Commitment, and Respect. Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Professional Engineering registration from the State of Georgia. LEED accreditation preferred.
Experience: Ten years experience in design, management and construction of public infrastructure projects including, but not be limited to, parks, trails, brownfield remediation, streetcar and/or light rail lines and support facilities. Experience in field construction management and multi-disciplinary projects in urban environments required.
Required Skills: Proficiency with project management and office software, such as Microsoft Project and other Microsoft Office products is required. Proficiency with applicable technical software, such as GIS/ARCInfo, AutoCAD and Microstation is highly preferred.
