All Appointment Levels: Demonstrated proficiency in the practice of modern fluid-mechanics measurements (PIV, LDV, LDA, DIC, PLIF, Shack-Hartmann, hot wire arrays, microphone arrays, Kulites, etc.) and familiarity with correlation-based analytical methods (wavenumber-frequency decomposition, POD, wave-packet analysis, array processing, etc.) as evidenced by at least 2 refereed scholarly publications. Eligibility for U.S. Security Clearance. For consideration as Associate Research Scientist: Possession of a Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Science, Applied Physics, or a closely related field or evidence that a terminal degree will be awarded by time of appointment. For consideration as Research Scientist I: Possession of a Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Science, Applied Physics, or a closely related field and at least two (2) years experimental research experience in an applicable field. For consideration as Research Scientist II: Possession of a Ph.D. in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Science, Applied Physics, or a closely related field and at least five (5) years experimental research experience in an applicable field. |
