Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an Operations Manager for the West Central Region, including Colorado, Kansas, Texas and Louisiana offices. Branch Manager for Houston office and Strategic Growth Manager for expansion of current operations into Oklahoma, Alabama and Arkansas. Oversee growth and execution of strategic and operational plans for 10 offices and 300 staff with revenue of approximately $60M. Key Responsibilities - Lead the West Central Region operation from the Houston branch office as responsible P&L manager reporting to the West US Group President. Take responsibility for Region financial performance, client satisfaction, staff deployment and development, resource management, and office business development activities
- Establishes annual business goals and strategies and prepares annual business strategic plan for the West Central Region and Texas / Gulf Coast Office
- Directs the Region and Office marketing program, expands the Company’s business in the current and future geographic areas served by the Region and Texas / Gulf Coast Office
- Serves as a visionary leader and point of contact for collaboration and integrated business development with internal business units and key client accounts
- Provides technical, consulting and project management leadership to Region and Office staff and participates as a technical consultant and / or project manager on appropriate projects
- Ensures financial controls, quality assurance / quality control and compliance to Wood company policies
- Participates in marketing presentations to key clients
- Fosters team environment, develops staff through mentoring, leadership and training programs, directs Region and Office recruitment and staffing needs and manages Loss Prevention / Risk Management issues
- Entails approval for contracts and commitments of work consistent with Wood company policy for signing authorities as Region and Office Manager
- Requires individual discipline and knowledge to meet Region and Office budgets on a month - to - month basis; therefore, the leader must be capable of functioning independently on Region and Office - specific issues and with minimal management engagement and approval
- Based in Houston, with generally local and regional travel to Colorado, Kansas, Texas and Louisiana branches and client sites in the Regional, Gulf Coast and broader Western US
Skills / Qualifications - BS / MS in Engineering or Science and Professional Certification / Registration desired
- Participation in professional organizations desired
- 15 - 20+ years’ experience in project and business management (at least 10 years as an Operations Manager) and relevant technical discipline
- Strong knowledge of the multiple environmental and infrastructure market sectors across the Texas and Gulf Coast Region
- Strong technical experience, strong project management experience and good client relationships
- Proven experience managing a profit center with $15+ million in annual revenues
- Understands federal, state, commercial and municipal markets with demonstrated skill in marketing and proposal development
- Possesses and demonstrates an enthusiasm to develop client and strategic teaming relationships through regular personal contact
- Proven supervisory skills and a leadership style that promotes participatory management technique teamwork, innovation and results
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must pass drug screen, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy
