The Northwest Seaport Alliance (NWSA) is recruiting for a Sr. Planner to join our Planning & Logistics department. The position works closely with the Environmental, Commercial, Operations and Public Affairs teams.
This is a senior-level professional position responsible for performing advanced level planning, analysis and logistics support services to NWSA and Port of Tacoma with an emphasis on port facility planning. These planning services may include, but are not limited to: transportation, land use, environmental, and infrastructure planning and analysis, port facility planning, grant coordination and acquisition, and project management oversight. The Sr. Planner will also provide project leadership and technical support in high-visibility planning initiatives at local, regional, state, and federal levels. The position supports the NWSA and Port Strategic Plans and influences regional transportation and land-use planning activities that impact NWSA and Port interests to ensure that they can fulfill their mission in the future. The Sr. Planner will have an emphasis in facility planning, but may also provide transportation planning and land use planning services as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Urban Planning, business or related discipline required. Master's Degree preferred.
Minimum five (5) years of professional planning or related experience. Experience with terminal planning projects and initiatives preferred. AICP certification or the ability to pursue and successfully obtain AICP credentials (or equivalent credential) within 2 years is required.
