The City of Everett is currently accepting applications for three (3) appointive positions to fulfill this body of work. The position and level of engineer hire will be determined by the applicant’s qualifications for Senior Engineer, Associate Engineer PE, or Associate Engineer NPE.
The City of Everett, population 108,000, is the county seat of Snohomish County, Washington. Located about 25 miles north of Seattle, Everett is a Pacific-Rim city situated on Port Gardner Bay. The City of Everett owns and operates a water filtration plant, a wastewater treatment plant, a regional water system, sanitary sewer and storm water collection systems, and transportation and road right of way system.
The successful candidate of Senior Engineer, under the direction of an administrative superior, will support compliance with Washington State Department of Ecology and Department of Health permits and regulations along with utility level of service goals. The work involves asset management practices, permit compliance tracking, report writing, planning, designing, and managing construction and major maintenance projects. Responsibilities also include providing technical supervision and advice to other engineers or technicians on design issues. Depending on the area of assignment, the Senior Engineer may also supervise one or more direct reports.
The successful candidate of Associate Engineer PE and Associate NPE will perform civil engineering work in the planning, analysis, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and management of utility and public works / transportation projects and operations. The work may include various engineering duties related to the City’s streets, water, sewer, or storm water systems, and water and wastewater treatment systems, depending upon experience and qualifications.

The salary is dependent upon education and experience and includes a comprehensive benefit plan.
