The City of Poway has an outstanding opportunity for a Construction Project Manager to be responsible for managing one of the most high-profile capital improvement projects in the City's current Capital Improvement Program. The proposed Mickey Cafagna Community Center project is currently in the construction document preparation stage with construction scheduled to begin in the summer of 2019, and will be the most significant vertical construction project the City has undertaken since the building of City Hall. This position will be specifically dedicated to the construction management of this project until completion.
Under administrative direction, oversees, supervises and coordinates the management of all stages of assigned major construction projects, including capital improvement projects, within the Engineering Division of the Development Services Department; coordinates assigned activities with various divisions, departments, outside agencies and the general public; oversees and performs on-site construction management and contract administration, including interfacing with contractors to define project requirements; and provides highly responsible and complex staff assistance to senior management. Receives direct or general supervision from the City Engineer and/or Director of Development Services. Exercises no direct supervision over staff. May provide technical and function direction to lower-level staff.
