The Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the field of lower urinary tract function. Our laboratory is involved in studies seeking to understand how injury, chronic stress/pain and aging can influence mechanisms including oxidative stress in both non-neuronal (uroepithelial; smooth muscle) and neuronal cells that ultimately alter organ function. The candidate will have the opportunity to integrate molecular, biochemical, genetic and anatomical approaches in ongoing multidisciplinary projects to study bladder health and disease using cellular and rodent models.
