The City of Bozeman, Montana is growing! The future of Bozeman is bright and we are in need of an experienced Engineer to assist in review of development applications and infrastructure plans as well as the planning, oversight, and management of civil engineering public infrastructure projects. In this challenging, but dynamic position, you will facilitate the development review process for a variety of engineering projects, provide technical expertise, guidance, and leadership to the Development Engineering team, and review, investigate, and develop appropriate recommendations regarding infrastructure challenges and policy compliance issues.

Wage: $80,661 - $88,639/year*Starting salary dependent on experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a closely related field; and• Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Montana either at the time of hire or by reciprocity with another state to be obtained by the end of the initial employment period; and• At least five years of progressively responsible experience gained as a registered P.E.
REQUIRED SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:• Valid Driver’s License and must obtain valid Montana Driver’s license within 60 days of employment;• Offers for employment are conditional upon satisfactory response to appropriate post conditional offer process.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:• Thorough knowledge of generally accepted construction standards and construction methods, materials, techniques, phases, practices, and procedures;• Thorough knowledge of modern practices of civil engineering related to planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of a wide variety of public works infrastructure;• Ability to develop complete and accurate plans, specifications, construction notes, and other project documentation;• Ability to effectively and accurately interpret and enforce all relevant codes, ordinances, laws, and regulations;• Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, using both technical and non-technical language.
