The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at the Florida A&M University (FAMU)-Florida State University (FSU) College of Engineering invites applications for a full time, non-tenure track, 12-month teaching faculty position in biomedical engineering. This is a permanent position with benefits. Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, or a very closely related discipline, and demonstrate the capability for high quality instruction in biomedical engineering. Candidates are expected to have strong commitments to high-quality teaching, primarily though not exclusively, at the undergraduate level, service to the department and campus, and outreach activities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to motivate and inspire students are essential.
Major responsibilities include teaching undergraduate laboratory courses in biomedical engineering, including molecular and cellular engineering, biomechanics, and instrumentation. Candidates are expected to assist in developing and teaching senior biomedical engineering design courses. The Department is currently developing an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and is seeking dedicated teaching faculty who can contribute to the development of this degree program through outstanding teaching and service.
