Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is looking for an experienced Transportation Manager to fill the role of Transportation Business Manager within our Infrastructure Business Unit based in Burnaby, BC. As a member of the management team, the Transportation Business Manager will lead all aspects of the transportation business across the British Columbia and Yukon region. Responsibilities will include: business development, client account management, strategic business planning, and business unit resourcing. In addition to these functional responsibilities the right candidate will bring a strong understanding of the design and construction management of transportation infrastructure projects. The right candidate will have experience of current procurement processes such as P3, EPCM and Design Build along with the more traditional procurement models.
Responsible for identifying business development opportunities for the Transportation Infrastructure Business, the right candidate needs to be able to influence others and command attention. Business development and client account management will be a key responsibility of this position. One of the primary responsibilities for the successful candidate will be Wood’s Client Account Manager for TransLink and BC Ministry for Transportation and Infrastructure. This will require a direct role in developing and maintaining relationships with key persons within these client organizations, and many other similar client organizations such as BC Ferries, identifying and positioning Wood for future opportunities, securing and delivering projects across the region.
The ideal candidate will have significant transportation engineering experience along with the management and leadership skills that will promote Wood’s business growth in the transportation sector. The transportation group within the Burnaby office has extensive, long standing experience with many provincial and municipal clients. The candidate for this role will be working with staff members that are well respected in the industry with in - depth knowledge of the transportation engineering sector. The other Canadian Regional offices in the Wood E&IS group also have transportation teams and promoting business across all of those regions is an important part of this role.
