The College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) at Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking an enthusiastic faculty member to help fulfill its mission of providing quality instruction to students located at its Detroit Medical Campus (DMC) educational site. The primary role of this person will be to serve as the site instructor for all neuroanatomy and human gross anatomy laboratories and to contribute to the development of lectures, laboratories, learning resources and assessment instruments specific to these disciplines. This individual will also provide general oversight of the Gross Anatomy Laboratory at the DMC site, a responsibility that includes managing and training student teaching assistants. The successful candidate will join a basic science teaching team at the DMC site whose responsibility is to help support student learning across basic and clinical biomedical science domains. In this role the new faculty member will facilitate lectures and proctor exams in all courses of the preclerkship curriculum, model interdisciplinary and interprofessional collaboration, and promote student scholarship through teaching, research or outreach. This is a 12-month, fixed-term (non-tenure-track) assistant professor position within the Division of Human Anatomy, Department of Radiology. The position is based at the DMC site, with occasional travel to the East Lansing and Macomb County educational sites expected.
