About the Job
This position conducts bridge inspections within the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Greenfield District, in order to maintain public safety and confidence, and to protect public investment.
Bridge Inspectors must conform to the National Bridge Inspection Standards by inspecting each bridge at least biennially, assigning ratings to bridge elements and reporting findings in accordance with the coding guidance developed by the Federal Highway Administration and INDOT.
Inspectors notify the Senior Bridge Inspection Engineer for submittal to the Bridge Asset Engineer. The Bridge Asset Engineer will then prioritize work to be done to the bridges.
